Vietnam has it all, a

Hanoi, the capital of
Vietnam is a city of lakes, shaded boulevards and parks. This
attractive city has many French colonial buildings and much less
traffic than other Asian cities. Some of the most popular
attractions include the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Opera House and St.
Joseph's Cathedral.
The stunning UNESCO World
Heritage Site of Halong Bay in the Gulf of Tonkin is comprised of
1,989 limestone islands famous for their grottos and caves, the most
spectacular being Hang Gau Go, Bo Nau and Thien Cung Caves.
The old imperial city of
Hue on the Northern bank of the Perfume River, was recognised in
1993 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This important town
has numerous ancient palaces and temples and is an important centre
for Bhuddism. Attractions include the Thien Mu Pagoda, Tomb of
Emperor Minh Mang, Tu Duc Tomb, the Imperial City, Thai Hoa Palace
and the Forbidden Purple City.
The picturesque riverside
town of Hoi An was one of the country's most important ports during
the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries and has a distinctly Chinese
atmosphere. Some of the most popular places to visit are: Quan
Cong Temple, Phuoc Kien Pagoda and the Tran Family Chapel.
Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)
is the largest of the Vietnamese cities, with the hustle and bustle
of Vietnamese life visible everywhere. There are numerous
street markets, outdoor cafes and sleek new bars. Yet within
this teeming metropolis there are 300 years of timeless traditions
and ancient culture. Places of interest include Notre Dame
Cathedral, City Hall, the Opera House, the Jade Emperor Pagoda,
Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum, Giam Lam Pagoda and Thien
Hua Pagoda.
