Tour of South Korea
Days 1 & 2
Fly Korean Air
from London Heathrow to Seoul. On arrival in
Seoul transfer to the Itaewon Hotel and check
in for a two night stay.
Day
3
Following breakfast at
the hotel, enjoy a sightseeing tour of South Korea's capital
city, Seoul. This includes visits to Gyeongbok Palace, the
National Folk Museum and the Seoul Tower on Mt. Namsan where you
will have a bird's eye view of this metropolitan city.
Day 4
After breakfast, transfer to the Korean Folk Village
just outside of Seoul. Here you can witness villagers living
the traditional lifestyle of the 18th & 19th Centuries. Then
continue to Songnisan National Park visiting Beopjusa
Temple en route. Stay overnight at the Lakehill
Hotel.
Day
5
Following breakfast at
the Lakehill Hotel, travel onwards to Gyeongju.
During the afternoon you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Gyeongju
which includes visits to Chomsongdae Astronomic Observatory, Royal
Tumuli Park and Bulguksa Temple. Check-in at the Kolon Hotel for a two night stay.
Day 6
After breakfast, begin
a full day tour of Gyeongju by visiting Seogguram Grotto, the 4
faced Bhudda and Gwaeneung Royal Tomb. Then enjoy a
scenic coastal drive to Guryongpo Port before returning to Gyeongju.
Day 7
Following breakfast, transfer to Unmoonsa
Temple (Buddhist nun's temple) before continuing to Busan for a
city tour. This will include visits to Busan Tower, Jagalchi
Fish Market and Nampodong Street. Check-in for an overnight
stay at the Busan Tourist Hotel.
Day 8
After breakfast, transfer to Gayasan National
Park. Here you will visit Haeinsa Temple which is home to a
world famous Korean treasure called Tripitaka Koreana, made in the
Goryo Dynasty to protect the country by Bhudda's power from invasion
of Mongolian troops. The Tripitaka Koreana was designated by
UNESCO as a world heritage site. Continue to the traditional village of Andong before proceeding to Chungju Lake,
stay overnight at
the Cheongpoong Lake & Hill Resort Hotel.
Day 9
Following breakfast and
hotel check-out, there is a sightseeing boat ride on the
picturesque lake before moving on to Gangneung. In Gangneung
you will visit Chamsori Gramophone & Audio Museum. Then proceed to Mt.
Doota for a unique temple stay experience at
Samwhasa Temple. This includes a to visit an evening bell ringing
ceremony and the evening worship.
Day 10
Today, why not take the
opportunity to rise early and attend the 3am mass and watch the
spectacular sunrise over the east coast? After breakfast you
will transfer to Mt. Seorak National Park and enjoy a cable car ride
to Gwonkeumsansung to visit Shinheungsa Temple. Here you can
enjoy a hot spring swim or sauna at Waterpia Spa Park.
Check-in at the Kensington Hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 11
Following breakfast and
check out from the hotel. You will transfer to Gapyeong to
visit the Morning Calm Flower and Tree Park, which displays unique
Korean wild flowers and trees. Return to Seoul and visit Itaewon Street, one of the capital's
main shopping areas. Check-in at the Itaewon Hotel for your
final night's stay.
Day 12
After checking out of the
Itaewon Hotel in Seoul you will be transferred to the airport for
your return flight with Korean Air to London Heathrow.
