Simply Singapore

Located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsular, the modern city of Singapore has much to offer visitors, including a World class zoo, fantastic shopping, beautiful botanical gardens and wonderful beaches on some of the fifty surrounding islets.

Influenced by a population of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasians, Singapore has an intriguing mix of heritage and culture.  It's Chinatown, Kampong Glam and Little India districts are full of shops selling ethnic goods and delicious traditional cuisine and are home to a variety of religious monuments.

Spreading over 28 hectares, the Singapore Zoological Gardens are acclaimed as one of the World's finest zoos.  You can even enjoy breakfast with an Orang Utan!  Located nearby is the Night Safari, the World's premier night zoo.  Home to over 1200 animals there is much to see, you can either stroll around the park on one of the walking trails or enjoy a leisurely tram ride.  Either way this is one adventure not to be missed.

Linked to Singapore by cable car, Sentosa Island, also known as the fun island, has fantastic beaches, two 18 hole international golf courses,and Underwater World where you can see pink dolphins.  It is also home to the huge 37 metre tall Merlion, which offers a vantage point over Sentosa Island and the Singapore skyline.

A highlight of any visit to the country must be to sip a Singapore Sling in the Long Bar of the exuberant Raffles Hotel.  Built in 1887 it is one of the World's last great 19th century hotels.  During the evening, experience some of the excellent Singaporean cuisine and dine in one of the alfresco restaurants at Boat or Clarke Quay.

The Shangri-la Hotel

Located close to the main shopping area of Orchard Road, the deluxe Shangri-la Hotel Singapore combines impeccable service with opulent accommodation, overlooking a 15 acre botanical haven and exotic  free form swimming pool, it is easy to forget that you are in the centre of the city.
