South Korea
Seoul,
South Korea's busy capital city, has over 600 years of history and
although this is one of the fastest growing cities in Asia, its
cultural buildings and heritage still stand proudly along neon lit
streets. Attractions include the Gyeongbokgung Palace,
the National Folk Museum and the Seoul Tower.
Many people
visit South Korea to see the DMZ (Demilitarised Zone), the area
between North and South Korea. Excursions to the DMZ, Panmunjeom and 3rd Tunnel can be organised as a day excursion from
Seoul.
Busan is the second largest city in South
Korea, and has the countries largest port. It is also home to
the fabulous Haeundae Beach which is popular with locals and
visitors alike.
Gyeongju
has been visited by tourists for many years due to the large amount of
historical and cultural places of interest. As the capital of
the Shilla Kingdom for almost a thousand years the area has now been
designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Attractions include
the Buddhist Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, Chomsongdae
Observatory and Royal Tumuli Park.
South
Korea has some stunning national parks, including Mt. Seoraksan and
Mt. Songnisan, both have outstandingly beautiful scenery. For
complete relaxation why not visit the island of Jeju? Known for its
fantastic beaches and tropical landscapes.
