Insight into
Vietnam
The intriguing country of Vietnam is drenched
in history, has unbelievable scenery and is still relatively
untouched by tourism, although it's popularity with visitors is
increasing year after year. Insight into Vietnam gives a brief
highlight into this wonderful and unique country.
Days 1 & 2
Fly
with Singapore Airlines from London Heathrow to Hanoi via Singapore.
On arrival in Hanoi you will be met and transferred to the Sofitel
Plaza Hotel for a three night stay in a deluxe room inclusive of
breakfast.
Day 3
After breakfast transfer to picturesque Halong
Bay. Board a private junk for a 4 hour cruise through
spectacular Halong Bay whilst enjoying a fresh seafood lunch.
Later return to Hanoi.
Day 4
Following breakfast at the Sofitel Hotel, you
will have a full day sightseeing tour of the charming capital, Hanoi
including visits to Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda,
the Temple of Literature, the Fine Arts Museum, the Museum of
Ethnology followed by a one hour cyclo ride through the Old Quarter.
Day 5
After
breakfast you will be transferred to Hanoi Airport for an onward
flight to Hue, the former capital of Vietnam. On arrival at Hue Airport you will be
transferred to the Morin Hotel, check-in for an overnight stay in a
superior room inclusive of breakfast. Later enjoy a sightseeing tour of
the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden City, from where the Nguyen
Warriors once ruled Vietnam. Before returning to the hotel you
will visit the colourful Dong Ba Market.
Day 6
Following breakfast take a dragon boat across
the Perfume River upstream to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda.
Depart for Danang stopping en route at the photogenic fishing
village of Lang Co and continuing onwards via the Hai Van Pass for
panoramic views of Vietnam's scenic coastline. Upon arrival in
Danag visit the Cham Museum, displaying the best collection of Cham
ruins dating from the 2nd to 15th Century. Check-in at the
Furama Resort for an overnight stay in a garden view room inclusive
of breakfast.
Day 7
After
breakfast transfer to the ancient town of
Hoi An and enjoy a walking tour of the town centre. This town has a distinct Chinese feel, full of narrow
winding streets and low tiled roof houses. The area is famous
for its traditional Hoi An lanterns, which are colourfully decorated
and intricately designed. After visiting Hoi An
you will be transferred back to Danang Airport for an onward flight
to Saigon. On arrival in Saigon you will be met and
transferred to the Caravelle Hotel for an overnight stay in a deluxe
room inclusive of breakfast.
Day 8
Following breakfast you will enjoy a
sightseeing tour of Saigon, also known as Ho Chi Minh City.
This will include visits to the Notre Dame Cathedral, the 1880's
General Post Office, the former Presidential Palace, Ben Thanh
Central Market, the Historical Museum, Cholon (Chinatown) and the
Thien Hau Temple before
transferring to Saigon Airport for your return flight to London
Heathrow via Singapore.
