Images of Malaysia
The Images of Malaysia tour explores the
wonders of peninsular Malaysia, including the vibrant capital city
Kuala Lumpur, the peaceful Cameron Highlands, the island paradise of
Penang, as well as the idyllic Terengganu coast.
Days 1 & 2
Fly with Emirates from London Heathrow to
Kuala Lumpur via Dubai. On arrival in Kuala Lumpur transfer to the The Renaissance Hotel.
Day 3
After breakfast, begin a sightseeing tour of
the capital city including visits to Merdeka Square, the
Malayan Railway Station, the National Monument, the National Museum
and the King's Palace.
Day 4
After breakfast, travel by road to the
historical city Malacca for a full day tour. Highlights
include St. Paul's Hill, the renowned Porta De Santiago, Cheng Hoon
Teng Temple and Jonkers Street.
Day 5
Following an early breakfast check-out of the
Renaissance Hotel and journey North to the town of Tapah at the foothills
of the Cameron Highlands. Gradually climb 5000ft above sea
level to the Cameron Highlands visiting Iskandar waterfalls en route
to your hotel. Later enjoy an afternoon tour of the Cameron
Highlands including visits to the rose gardens, tea plantations and
vegetable farms. Check-in at the Lakehouse Hotel for a two
night stay inclusive of breakfast.
Day 6
Day is at leisure to explore the Cameron
Highlands.
Day 7
After breakfast, your day begins with a
pleasant drive downhill to Tapah and then North towards Ipoh.
Ipoh is also known as the city of millionaires who made their
fortunes from the rich tin mines of the Kinta Valley. You will
visit one of the cave temples in Ipoh and then have lunch at a local
restaurant. Continuing North, visit Kellie's Castle which was
built by a Scottish rubber tycoon before proceeding to Kuala Kangsar
famous for the unique Ubudiah Mosque, the former palace of the
Sultan of Perak. Travel over the longest bridge in Asia to the
island of Penang and stay for three nights at either the Mutiara
Beach Resort or the Grand Plaza Park Royal Hotel inclusive of
breakfast.
Day 8
Following breakfast, there is an orientation
tour of the island. This will include visits to the Batik
Factory, the Butterfly Farm, Penang Museum, the Reclining Buddha
Temple and the heritage city of Georgetown.
Day 9
Day is at leisure in Penang.
Day 10
After breakfast you will cross from the modern
West coast to the traditional East coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
The journey to Kota Bahru on the East coast traverses changing
terrain and lifestyles. Pass by padi fields in the state of
Kedah before crossing the central mountain range into the flat lands
of Kelantan State. Kota Bahru, the state capital of Kelantan
was for a long time isolated from the rest of Malaysia except by
sea, for this reason Kota Bahru has become one of the nations
storehouses of culture and traditional skills. Stay overnight
at the Renaissance Hotel inclusive of breakfast.
Day 11
Following
breakfast, witness the drawing of Batik and the weaving on Songket,
the distinctive Malaysian brocade, which Kelantan is most well
known. Later travel South to Terengganu, visit Kuala
Terengganu, the state capital which overlooks the South China Sea.
From July to September, giant leather back turtles return to the
unspoiled beaches to lay their eggs. Check-in at the Primula
Park Royal Hotel for a two night stay.
Day 12
Day is at leisure to explore Kuala Terengganu.
Day 13
After breakfast, travel South towards Kuantan
in the state of Pahang. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Stay for three nights at the Hyatt Kuantan inclusive of breakfast.
Day 14
Following breakfast there is a tour of Kuantan
and local villages, with time to relax by the pool or on the beach.
Day 15
Day is at leisure in Kuantan.
Day 16
Transfer to Kuantan Airport for your return
flight Malaysia Airlines and Emirates to London Heathrow via Kuala
Lumpur and Dubai.
