Japan & Hong Kong – Cities of
Contrast
It is often
assumed that the countries of Asia hold no variation; this could not
be further from the truth. Although there are some similarities,
Japan in the North East and Hong Kong in the South East are quite
different in character and culture.
‘Cities
of Contrast’ visits both destinations allowing you to experience the
highlights of each in one insightful holiday.
Days 1 & 2
Fly with British
Airways from London Heathrow to Tokyo, on arrival transfer by
airport limousine bus to the deluxe Palace Hotel for a three night
stay.
Day 3
Join the Cityrama Morning Tour
of Tokyo,
including visits to the Meiji Shrine, Imperial East Garden (or
Imperial Palace Plaza on Mondays and Thursdays), Asakusa Kannon
Temple and Nakamise Shopping Arcade, followed by a drive through the
colourful shopping area of Ginza.
Day 4
Full day tour of Mt. Fuji and Hakone. The tour
includes a drive half way up the famous mountain, entrance to the
Mt. Fuji Visitor Centre and a Western style lunch at the Hotel
Highland Resort. Following lunch continue to picturesque
Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi and the Mt. Komagatake Aerial
Cableway. You will then return to Tokyo.
Day
5
After checking
out of the Palace Hotel, make your way to Tokyo Station to board the
Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto. On arrival at Kyoto Station
make your way to the Rihga Royal Hotel and check-in for a three
night stay.
Day 6
Morning tour of Kyoto including sightseeing at Nijo Castle (or Ryoanji Temple when Nijo Castle is closed),
the Golden Pavilion, the Kyoto Imperial Palace (or Higashi
Honganji Temple when the Kyoto
Imperial Palace is closed) and the Kyoto Handicraft
Centre.
Day 7

Today is at
leisure to explore the intriguing city of Kyoto or the neighbouring
picturesque town of Nara.
Day 8
After checking out of the
Rihga Royal Hotel transfer by airport bus to Osaka Kansai Airport for
an onward Cathay Pacific
flight to the vibrant city of Hong Kong. On arrival in Hong
Kong transfer to the Marco Polo Hong Kong
Hotel for a four
night stay.
Days
9, 10 & 11
Days are
free at leisure to explore Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Tourist
Association operates a number of free excursions which can be booked
locally. One of the most popular activities is a sail on the
authentic Duk Ling Chinese junk.
Day 12
After checking
out of the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel, transfer to the
airport for your return flight to London Heathrow with British
Airways.
