Borneo
The
island of Borneo is part of three countries, Malaysia, Indonesia and

Sabah is on the Northern tip of Borneo, and is
often called the "Land below the wind" as it is home to the highest
mountain in South East Asia, Mount Kinabalu. Places of

excellent place for diving, with the Sipadan Islands and Tunku Abdul
Marine Park offering some of the best dive sites in the World.
Twenty minutes from the town of Sandakan is one of the World's
largest orang utan rehabilitation centres, the Sepilok Orang Utan
Sanctuary and for nature lovers this is a must see attraction.
The more adventurous visitor may enjoy a challenging two or three
day climb of the
magnificent Mt. Kinabalu.
Sarawak on the North Western tip of Borneo is
also known for its abundance of wildlife, wonderful tropical
landscapes and cultural diversity. Kuching the state capital,
often called "Cat City" is the main base for many peoples stay in
Sarawak. From here visitors can enjoy excursions to Semonggok
Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and Satang Island, one of three
islands designated as a turtle conservation area. Day tours to
watch the rare Irrawaddy Dolphin can also be enjoyed.
